KX-T: New KXTDA Systems...ARGGG----GROWLLLLLLL!!!!

2003-09-16 Thread SloopJohnB
Ok, you TD500 dealers, and those with an office (in a commercial zone) and
two techs, and $4K for all the backup equipment needed.

Are there any certified KXTDA dealers in the San Diego area willing to take
a referral for a customer of mine who is ready to write the check for the
latest and greatest Panasonic system??

Email me off list.

Thank You,

SloopJohnB

KX-T: TVS50 & KXT123211D a

2003-09-16 Thread Charles Patterson
~Reply part 1 (full message was too long for the list to process)~

Day/Night with the Analog 123211D

well, some general concepts might help to understand this...

Since the TVS and the 123211 cannot integrate their clocks, they both have
two separate day/night setups.
The KSU day/night affects the way the phones ring, and how quickly the vm
answers.
The TVS day/night will change the greeting, only according to its
preprogrammed schedule (or no change if it is not programmed)

So, If you want the TVS to answer immediately during night mode, set the
voicemail ports to either immediate ring for night, OR set the lines to DIL
(direct in line) into the tvs during night. prog 52 "CO MODE NIGHT" does
this

Now you can turn the night mode on or off either with a code or night
button, OR by the programmed schedule in the KSU (or by both).

At lunch or during employee meetings, etc, you can turn on night mode (782#
or whatever- I think that is right) and turn it off when done.
And you can have it come on at 5pm and go off the next morning via the
schedule.

In the TVS, it will answer according to the menus you program to answer for
each port. EACH PORT has day and night settings. It will only use the day
setting unless you program a schedule in to do automatic switching.

Program a schedule, and a different night menu, then that will change
according to the schedule. The menu/greeting will NOT change just because
you put the KSU into night mode- the vm will ONLY change according to its
schedule.
So if you put the KSU in to night mode for lunch, then the TVS will answer
immediately, but still play the day time greeting.

Caveat- you will now have to keep both the KSU and the TVS clock set
properly to make sure they run right

On the digitals you can set them to ring at the same time, I don't think you
can do that on the 123211.
The A624 maybe.
Other option is to put them into a ring group (can the 123211 do that? check
under hunting type) and set the menu to ring that number.

The NO ANSWER message covers all the others. Just don't record a busy
message.

Video Tape Recorder???

No it's "Voicemail TRansfer"
Very valuable in the newer systems. Press VTR plus the ext# to send a call
direct to a voicemail box.
The 624-3 has it. On the 123211 I think you need to transfer, dial the vm
ext#, then enter the #6 and box number then hang up quick so the caller
hears the box message...

Doing it yourself can be quite a challenge and sometimes even fun.
Since phone systems are not designed to be consumer friendly (heck, they're
not even pro-installer friendly) it will be hard to find any coordinated
resource other than what individuals might put together out of the kindness
of their hearts. Every manufacturer does things differently and every
customer wants their system set up differently. I suppose if Microsoft and
Apple made phones systems, there might a bit more commonality. As it is,
throw a question out to this list from time to time and you can pick up some
good tips.

Re: KX-T: RE: Dial 9 Behind Centrex...

2003-09-16 Thread Robert F. Kelley
May I suggest a Viking Hot Line Dialer - Tone Model K-1900-5 for $82.77? See
http://www.vikingtelecomsolutions.com/Catalog/Model_K-1900-5.htm

If you place it on the Centrex line with correct programming it will dial 9 every time
the switch seizes the line (You will need one for each CO Line with requiring
automatic 9).

Programing sequence is 984#00

KX-T: Re: Re: Re: Re: Dial 9 Behind Centrex...

2003-09-16 Thread Dave Phelps
I just found out recently that with Centrex off of a Siemens switch, at
least in my area, can be configured assume 9, but that you can hit # to get
the Centrex group. So to dial another centrex extension I might dial #1001.

I didn't believe it when they first told me. It works, I tried it myself
just to prove it.

| Yes, "assumed 9" is a good alternative if you can get it... but I had
one
| customer who was told that to switch from his regular Centrex to the
| "assumed 9" he would be breaking his contract and still liable for the
| penalty charges!!!
|
| With assumed 9 you do loose some features, I think, such as the ability to
| dial direct to another of your own centrex lines with just 4 digits. Not
too
| many people use that though.

APITS integration in a TA is the easiest thing in the world to do. It
makes it worth changing out the phone system just to have the VTR and
automatic switching...now just get the 123211D customer on the same page.

In the TA issue, you set up a custom greeting for DAY, NIGHT, and LUNCH. I
use 30,60,and 50 for D0,N0 and L0. Set your TVS to use PBX ingeration for
clock schedule and you're almost done :-). Now go into the TA programming
and set the automatic clock and you are done. Even better is if you
manually switch the TA to nights, it stays in nights until the next
schedule change.

Charles pretty much nailed the 123211 explanation, with the exception of
VTR.
I have a couple of notes from my 123211 integration cheat sheet and I offer
them without comment, because I can't remember what they're about :-)

We record all 3 greetings (na,by and after hrs) and "your name". After
that we dial 7192#,7311#,7321# and FWD 2 ext #. 7192# turns on the call
progress forward tones, 73x1 the CW on ICM and CO, and FWD 2 is NA/BSY
forward to VM.

There's a timing issue, but we send the VM transfer call to the phone and
let the CF/NA handle the housekeeping. Hey, not bad for a nearly 20 year
old phone system

You can switch the VM into nights from anywhere in the world, but not by
pressing a single button. It's by using the 999 administrator's box to
manually switch to night mode.

Yes and NO. Takes an extra port and the key is to ring a 3rd station and
program a button with directed call pickup.

Answered.

Like we used to say BWAHH HAAA H

I have a new client who wanted to buy a system for the future, but he's
larger than a 308 and smaller than a 624 today ie 2x9 plus fax and VM. I
talked him into the TA-624 for 6 months and we will look to see what the
848 is all about. He has time to ramp up, and if he absolutely needs to
ramp up quickly, we can add the 70 card, 77 card, or change out the system.
I just "lent" him my maintenance spare.
