Re: KX-T: modems
A few years ago I paid five cents for a huge internal Hayes 300 at a flea market. I had no intention of using it, but did not want to see such an important piece of history end up in the trash at the end of the day. I also have a phone booth, a Telex, a Lily Tomlin switchboard, and about 40 buttsets in my personal museum. /mnm AbleComm Inc. www.ablecom.com etc. - Original Message - From: "larry" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, April 02, 2002 11:21 PM Subject: Re: KX-T: modems > A junkyard or a museum? > > Sadly, we just dumped a crate of old hayes 300 & 1200 > baud circuit boards. Trot yourself down to the local Orange Box and pick up things like your Progressive tone and probe and Greenlee bits. They're not too bad for pricing. Check out their tool shed for drills. although I usually just grab mine at the wholesale tool place, a Ryobi 18v cordless set is $199 for an underpowered Sawzall, 4 or 5 inch saw, and a drill. Then beat on your distributor for the "tools of the trade". See, you could have put the rest of your day off to good use :-) Oh, and when you get your new tools, be sure to post your address. I never know when I might need some new tools. Carl Navarro P.S. I'm sure the insurance is nice, but it makes you mad that someone is wandering around with your tools that sold for pennies on the dollar. KX-T: Re: a great morning!
Although most of our tools were bought new, we have gotten some great deals thru eBay (like our Ziad PHD and a brand new Harris TS22-ALO for the price of a generic buttset!). One of the problem with buying your tools from eBay is that you really have to be patient until you get the right deal...and you have to know enough about what you're buying. It amazes me how many people buy used power tools at almost the same price they could get it new from www.amazon.com. A while back, when we were in the need for a rotary hammer drill we did very well with a company called Power Tool Services, a Milwaukee service center. They seemed to have a very good stock of factory refurbished/reconditioned tools. Their phone is 877-585-9328 and their site is www.powertoolservices.com. We bought a Milwaukee 5303 SDS Rotary Hammer Kit from them for $240. The case was a little bit beat up, but the drill was perfect and practically new, the chucks and such were brand new, and we got a factory warranty. New, the drill would have been at least $400. People on eBay were paying at that time close to $300 for the same drill, but used and without any warranty. Why? KX-T: Re: a great morning! (idea for computer parts...)
For computer equipment (used and new), if you're near NJ, then you might want to go to the Trenton Computer Festival (TCF). (www.tcf-nj.org) It's one of the largest computer shows, but it has a very large outdoor "flea market" section. This year it's on Sat & Sun, May 4th & 5th, and it's held in Edison, NJ. You should be able to find just about anything computer or electronic related. There's lots of junk there, but you can find some great deals. It's the only computer show I bother to go to, although I don't go every year. Unlike typical computer shows with vendors selling new computer equipment, the flea market section is cheap to get a spot, so there are literally hundreds of people selling their old parts, equipment, junk, etc. Even though it's mostly computer related, I always see some tools and telecom equip. FYI, 3 years ago I took a spot at TCF and got rid of a truck full of old parts and junk that was wasting space at my offices. Why someone would buy old 720K diskettes I will never know, but I did come home with a LOT more money than I expected. In fact, this year I'm planning another trip to sell more old equipment and parts, including a complete AT&T Spirit System. Be warned though, this show is a "geek festival", fill with lots of unusual people (always good for a laugh). As for the best deal I ever got at TCF...years ago I bought an Altair 8800 (basically, the first microcomputer, released in 1975) for $250. These are now selling on eBay for as much as $3000 or more. I haven't bought any tools in a while, but some of the best prices I've seen on power and hand tools are from Tools on Sale, aka 7 Corners hardware (http://www.7cornershdwe.com). KX-T: dear KXT gurus
O KXT GURUS! Please help me with the following question: How can I configure the PBX to provide INBAND signaling (DTMF call-progress) when using a 3rd party voice-mail system? I've tried a number of different settings, but I cannot seem to get it. If I setup the "voice-mail ports", the system assumes I am using digital integration with a Panasonic voice-mail system. If I don't setup the "voice-mail ports" but simply program extentions, put them into one EXT group, and define that group as a "voice-mail" (or AA) group, I dont get DTMF call-progress tones. Your help is really appreciated! Thanks Ron _ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt
KX-T: My UCD went goofy
Hi gang, I set up a working UCD on a KXTD1232 -3 system with 4 extensions in the group. Overflow was going to DISA and life was good. Saturday, we had a storm go through that took out power long enough for the system to go down. Upon inspecting the programming, everything looks good, but since the weekend, the UCD calls work in groups of 6 instead of 4. In other words, previously, calls routed to extensions 101, then 102, then 103, then 104 and started back with 101. Since the weekend, we are seeing a cycle of 6 as follows: extension 101, 102, 103, 104, 3 rings voice mail (165), 3 rings voice mail (165), then back to 101. I have reset the KVT and the TVS to no avail. The two calls that route to voice mail are not ringing any connected extensions. Anyone have any ideas that may be helpful? FWIW, I was not able to get into the last Panasonic Training due to a full class in Houston, Texas - but my rep assures me that I am signed up for the next session. I am anxious :) Thanks, Bill Rakowitz multipart/related multipart/alternative text/plain (text body -- kept) text/html image/gif _ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt

KX-T: cut and paste to dos- pc question
Is there a way to cut and paste from a Windows window to the DOS window of the Pana software? That might ease speeddial entry. charles _ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt
Re: KX-T: cut and paste to dos- pc question
Charles, If you are in a window instead of full screen(Alt. Enter switches) you can use the paste button up top to paste from the point of the curser. This would work al right for speed dials if you copy them from your source one at a time. Should you need to get info out you can use the "mark" button(the one with the dotted box) place your mouse over the info and hold down the left button as you hilight it. Then the "copy" button will take it to the clipboard. Hop this helps.
