Although most of our tools were bought new, we have gotten some great deals
thru eBay (like our Ziad PHD and a brand new Harris TS22-ALO for the price
of a generic buttset!). One of the problem with buying your tools from eBay
is that you really have to be patient until you get the right deal...and you
have to know enough about what you're buying. It amazes me how many people
buy used power tools at almost the same price they could get it new from
www.amazon.com.

A while back, when we were in the need for a rotary hammer drill we did very
well with a company called Power Tool Services, a Milwaukee service center.
They seemed to have a very good stock of factory refurbished/reconditioned
tools. Their phone is 877-585-9328 and their site is
www.powertoolservices.com. We bought a Milwaukee 5303 SDS Rotary Hammer Kit
from them for $240. The case was a little bit beat up, but the drill was
perfect and practically new, the chucks and such were brand new, and we got
a factory warranty. New, the drill would have been at least $400. People
on eBay were paying at that time close to $300 for the same drill, but used
and without any warranty. Why?

Ian Goldstein
