Bug#718580: ITP: mayan -- Django-based Electronic Document Management System (EDMS)
Hi Mathias! On 2014-02-02 at 14:00, Mathias Behrle wrote: > I am just starting to use mayan and I want to ask, if there are already some > results for this ITP. This only to give feedback, that I am interested to have > this package in Debian as well. Actually, the packaging is in stall because some of the build dependencies aren't available as independent packages in Debian. There were a couple of Python modules that prevented me to start working seriously on Mayan. I discovered that Python environments are not allowed (or, at least, appreciated) in Debian packaging. So I need to understand even that part of the process. Given that, if you are in a hurry for using Mayan, then you'd better start breathing again and use the python-env system for now. I'll keep you updated on the progresses I may achieve with this package, if you are interested in this task. Cheers. -- Matteo F. Please note that dh_shlibdeps gave warnings like "dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: debian/gtkpod/usr/lib/gtkpod/libfiletype_m4a.so contains an unresolvable reference to symbol dlopen: it's probably a plugin." for both plugins, so maybe a line like "libfiletype_{m4a,mp4}_la_LIBADD = -ldl" should get added to the appropriate Makefile.am files. Hope that helps, Fabian Your efforts are really appreciated! :-) I will test and apply your patch as soon as I find some free time. Maybe in the weekend, already. Bug#659856: mp4v2: Please bring back metadata API
Hi Fabian! On 14/02/2012 11:24, Fabian Greffrath wrote: Hi, it appears that between the latest official release 1.9.1 and the "recommended trunk snapshot" r479 that got packaged in Debian, upstream (for no apparent reason, if you are asking me) removed the entire metadata API from libmp4v2. However, some not-yet-ported software like e.g. faac does still rely on this API and does thus not build against the current package. It seems this is the same reason why d-m.o still has a version 1.9.1 package in their repository. However, I think reverting the corresponding upstream SVN commit and thus adding this API back does not hurt anyone and hereby ask you to do so. The attached patch is the reverted upstream commit r322 forced to apply to the current sources. I've tested your patch and sadly I've got to admit that it fails[1] :-( Since the patch modifies the upstream source code, I had to re-pack it, as you can see from the updated name of the package (~dfsg1). Maybe some other commit needs to get reverted as well. Ah, OK. Since the patch modifies the upstream source code, I had to re-pack it, as you can see from the updated name of the package (~dfsg1). He, what else do you expect a patch to do?! Drop it in debian/patches and be done with it, or am I missing something? If you change the upstream code, adding a file (like your patch does), dpkg-source ain't happy at all, because it finds discrepancies between the .orig.tar.{gz|bzip2} (created using pristine-tar from the clean upstream branch) and the upstream modified with the patch. No good. The only way is to re-pack the upstream source tree with the patch applied. But maybe I'm doing it wrong. Cheers, - Fabian Cheers. -- Matteo F. Hi! I'm taking control over babl (and gegl) library because the actual maintainer has lost interest in it and gave me his blessing for starting a new work on it again. Bug#682084: ITP: totalopenstation -- download and process data from total station devices
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: "Matteo F. Vescovi" * Package name: totalopenstation Version : 0.3 Upstream Author : Stefano Costa * URL : http://tops.iosa.it/ * License : GPL-3+ Programming Lang: Python Description : download and process data from total station devices Total Open Station (TOPS for friends) is a free software program for downloading and processing data from total station devices. This is a task which is usually done by proprietary, dedicated and Windows™-only software, but TOPS is different by nature, because: - it is free software released under the GNU GPLv3 license; - it works on any operating system, including mobile platforms like OpenMoko; - it is designed to support as many devices and formats as possible, all within the same program, opposed to having one program per device. Every model has its own quirks, but TOPS uses a modular structure and keeps the downloading of data logically separated from its processing, thus enabling exporting data to a variety of output formats, even at a later moment. Archiving of raw data is made easy by using plain text files. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Well, Bullet is a bad beast for Blender... ;-) I recall the fights Diego Petteno' (Blender packager for Gentoo) had to face while trying to integrate a shared version of bullet library instead of the embedded one :-) I'd be happy to test the use of the shared version of it in the Debian package, being its absence from archives the only issue at the moment. It would be great even to use the entire pack of libraries, not only the core one. Let me know if you need some help in shaping the package, if I'm able to ;-P IIRC, some DDs of Games Team are also part of DMM Team. Maybe you could find a sponsor here, directly. Bug#687988: Processed: Re: Bug#687988: blender: Fails to display solid objects with r600/gallium3D
Hi again! Right, I completely agree. So, this is what happened: Rober Leigh (rleigh) reported that in version 2.63a-1 of blender package there was a problem in visualizing solid objects (they disappear), while wireframe objects were displayed perfectly. At first it seemed to be a blender-related issue, while testing different solutions Roger came to the conclusion that the problem resides in MESA rendering drivers (at least for his ATI Readeon HD6870). He reported Windows, Mac and Linux boxes were tested on different applications using OpenGL and the issue could not be reproduced. Only using the software rendering option from Xorg brought to this situation. While the proprietary driver didn't show any problem. And then Roger told me (being the only active maintainer) that probably at this point the better solution would have been to reassign the bug to MESA package. This is a brief history of the bug. Hope it's clear enough. Thanks for educating me about these procedures ;-) Cheers. -- Matteo F. Bug#637815: gtkpod fails to start
Package: gtkpod Version: 2.1.0~git20110604.c707594-3 Hi! I must admit that I can't reproduce this bug... nor when I tried the version you're using, nor the one in unstable (that is the new stable release). But I'm using Sid. The first possible cause of this issue that comes to my mind could be the GTK3 migration going on from unstable to testing: for example, libgtk-3-0 in testing is up to 3.0.11-1 version, while in unstable it's 3.0.12-1 but it's not going to migrate soon[1]. So the issue is not directly connected to gtkpod. It's an environment problem; anyhow, you could dare and upgrade the needed packages from unstable to test if it works (and even test the new 2.1.0-1). Otherwise, you have to wait the migration process to complete ;-) Thanks for your patience. mfv [1] http://packages.qa.debian.org/g/gtk+3.0.html -- Il messaggio e' stato analizzato alla ricerca di virus o contenuti pericolosi da MailScanner, ed e' risultato non infetto. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Admit it! :-) I admit... but still somehow, in its infinite wisdom, aptitude managed to resolve the problem (and install the 2.1.0~ packages). Today, when running an "apt-get upgrade", I was stuck again. Commenting out the multimedia line resolved the issue. No magic about the infinite wisdom of aptitude: simply, Christian Marillat now provides a 2.1.0 release of gtkpod. It's like avoiding the problem, in the end. And here we're talking of documentation; people need documentation! I'm spending time (lots of it) trying to modify the upstream source thru patches to use libraries already included in Debian. That's why things are not changing in this period. Help is really appreciated (tagging now). > * Complete debian/copyright Good to know. Thanks. Cheers. -- Matteo F. Bug#720592: transition: libebml
Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: transition Dear Release Team, I'm filing this bug for the transition of libebml package. A testing-purpose package (1.3.0-1) is available on experimental since June 30th. Against this version, affiliated libmatroska 1.4.0 was built and even that package is in the experimental archive. The reverse dependencies in unstable for this transition are: * libmatroska * mkvtoolnix and none of them seems to FTBFS against this new library version, as can be seen at [1],[2]. Thanks for your time and patience. Bug#721001: [Pkg-phototools-devel] Bug#721001: [openimageio-tools] Add support for users OCIO config
Hi! There's already a patch available but I need to check it and test against future releases of upstream code. It's kind of a simple task but my laptop died few days, so I'm resurrecting it right now and when it's up and ready, I'll upload the fixing revision and eventually provide a new revision of OIIO package with OCIO support enabled. I guess this has been a fault of mine :-( I didn't check for any new file installed with this new version and missed that library, since former versions didn't have any library at all. Alessio already pushed a commit fixing this. Thanks for reporting and your efforts in solving this issue. Cheers. -- Matteo F. I've checked and committed your patch to my local git repository. It will be part of next revision or release of Blender. Authorship was kept so you'll find the credit in changelog. Hi! On Sun, Oct 06, 2013 at 09:04:28PM +0200, David Suárez wrote: > During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on > amd64. Besides the libboost-dev b-dep (its missing was already discovered in my local build environment) that must be added to the source package, the real big issue now is the un-coordinated transition of yaml-cpp from 0.3 to 0.5.1; this brought to a complete FTBFS on all the architectures. I'll add the above mentioned b-dep in next revision (or release), but surely we need to wait for "yaml-cpp transition" issue to be fixed to see a fully-working-again opencolorio package. Thanks for the report, anyhow. Cheers. -- Matteo F.
