Re: [blind-gamers] Ball Bouncer

2024-12-03 Thread John via groups.io

Hi,

Points are converted to coins when the game ends. If you finish a round,
meaning the timer runs out, you will see your total points and coins
earned. You must have positive points to earn coins.

Hitting the ball with full energy will make it go a lot further than
when you're low. Try to keep the number of swings you make to a minimum
so you give your character time to recharge, and try to hit the ball
when you have as much energy as you can get. The upgrade for blow force
recovery is relatively cheap and is well worth getting early. If you
need to let the ball bounce a little to line up your swing, then do it
without hesitation.

Second question: I'm obviously at the default recovery rate for my
character. When I am playing the normal mode, my char doesn't seem to be
able to recover it all since I am always hitting the ball. How do I get
a chance to recover it when I always have to keep the ball off the ground?

I am so confused about these two things. I have received about 19
rewards and so many achievement points but when do they transfer to
coins? Do I have to wait to recieve so many achievement points for
whatever reason?

Thanks all in advance,

completely inaccessible. Does is now work with screen readers like Jaws or

Hi,
Steam lately works fine with screen readers, even the sign in part. On the
mac it's way more complicated to set up but on windows it should be fine.
And the picture in picture is more accessible. But without it, you can also
do stuff. What I do is, install steam, sign in, and then use the web
browser to install games, you can search on google for any game, purchase
and install it, it will open the client on the web and it should work.

I don't think so. I heard that with some tweaking you can make it partially
accessible, but right from the download I've heard that it is just as
inaccessible as it has always been.

So far as I know, Valve Software has not been open to the idea of making Steam
accessible.

I would love to be wrong, but I just explored this a month or two ago, and what
I found wasn't encouraging.

My understanding is that Steam can be made accessible but you'll have to redo
it every time Valve Software updates the client.

I wish you great success!

Re: [blind-gamers] Steam accessibility?

2024-12-03 Thread Stephan H.
Hi,
the fact is, that rather the website neither the client are accessible. It
only works with workarounds and frustration.

Essential funktions are totally inaccessesible, like changing a download
folder or so.

That's a nice work around but I'd rather that the client itself were
accessible, and as long as Valve Software refuses to take that step, I will
continue to boycott them.

Thanks for all the comments, folks, but I'm now more confused than ever.
LOL!

It works ... It doesn't work ... It kinda works ... So, do I need to
download and use the Steam windows client or not to play games?

And is there a way to get sequence Storm without bothering with Steam?

Thanks,

Re: [blind-gamers] Steam accessibility?

2024-12-03 Thread John via groups.io
Seconded here. I had a quite accessible experience with Steam earlier
this year, including changing the aforementioned download folder.

I don't use it a lot, but every time I do it works pretty well.

Also, I will point out that there's an important difference between
saying you want to accomplish a task (such as purchase a game) and
saying you want to accomplish that task in a specific manner. If there
is no way to accomplish the task, that's a problem. If there's no way to
accomplish the task in the specific way you want but others are
available that's a trade-off to make or leave depending on what's
important to you, but regardless of your decision the fact remains the
task can be accomplished.

P.S:

If you're really having trouble changing your download folder within
steam just symlink it to wherever and call it good.

Re: [blind-gamers] Steam accessibility?

2024-12-03 Thread Milos Przic via groups.io
Hello all,

While we are at it, would it be recommended to install the Steam client and the
steam games on an external hard disk? I have a spare one which is an SSD, so
should be fast enough. However, I am not sure if the games would install
directly there when downloading automatically, as well as to whether it would
lag because of running from an external hard drive…

Best,

Miloš

Hi,

Steam lately works fine with screen readers, even the sign in part. On the mac
it's way more complicated to set up but on windows it should be fine. And the
picture in picture is more accessible. But without it, you can also do stuff.
What I do is, install steam, sign in, and then use the web browser to install
games, you can search on google for any game, purchase and install it, it will
open the client on the web and it should work.

Re: [blind-gamers] Ball Bouncer

2024-12-03 Thread Rachel Keyte via groups.io

Thanks for that, so even if it hits the ground a few times?

I notice if I do that too many times to let myself recover of course it
penalizes me.

But I'll work on it and hopefully I can get some coins today.

Thanks John and Orielle too.

On 4/12/2024 12:38 am, John via groups.io wrote:

Hi,

Points are converted to coins when the game ends. If you finish a
round, meaning the timer runs out, you will see your total points and
coins earned. You must have positive points to earn coins.

Hitting the ball with full energy will make it go a lot further than
when you're low. Try to keep the number of swings you make to a
minimum so you give your character time to recharge, and try to hit
the ball when you have as much energy as you can get. The upgrade for
blow force recovery is relatively cheap and is well worth getting
early. If you need to let the ball bounce a little to line up your
swing, then do it without hesitation.

Hi all,, Was wondering if anyone on here plays Ball Bouncer and can
answer a few questions. I only started playing it this morning so
excuse my ignorance. I have read the manual.

Anyway: 1. I have hit and dammaged about 33 objects and still haven't
recieved any coins.

Second question: I'm obviously at the default recovery rate for my
character. When I am playing the normal mode, my char doesn't seem to
be able to recover it all since I am always hitting the ball. How do I
get a chance to recover it when I always have to keep the ball off the
ground?

I am so confused about these two things. I have received about 19
rewards and so many achievement points but when do they transfer to
coins? Do I have to wait to recieve so many achievement points for
whatever reason?

Thanks all in advance,

Rachel K

Subject: [blind-gamers] Ball Bouncer

Hi all,, Was wondering if anyone on here plays Ball Bouncer and can answer a
few questions. I only started playing it this morning so excuse my ignorance. I
have read the manual.

Anyway: 1. I have hit and dammaged about 33 objects and still haven't recieved
any coins.

Second question: I'm obviously at the default recovery rate for my character.
When I am playing the normal mode, my char doesn't seem to be able to recover
it all since I am always hitting the ball. How do I get a chance to recover it
when I always have to keep the ball off the ground?

I am so confused about these two things. I have received about 19 rewards and
so many achievement points but when do they transfer to coins? Do I have to
wait to recieve so many achievement points for whatever reason?

Thanks all in advance,

Rachel K

Hi, nope. It's windows only. It was developed by the creators of blood rain.

Re: [blind-gamers] a heros call

2024-12-03 Thread Tobias Vinteus via groups.io
But there is always the option of using the freeware version of A Hero's Call
instead. I'm not sure, but I think you can use your existing save files if you
wish. What I did though is changing from Winforms to Monogame in the config
file, which improved gameplay and let me use my XBox Controller.

Hi, Mattias,
I think it is www.blind-games.com. The same place
that provied accounts for Entombed. Although you could always use the freeware
version of A Hero's Call instead.
