Hi Michael, > This entails getting it to build on Solaris. I am sure it runs on OSX > because that Michael Brickenstein has a Mac Laptop. So Michael, does > the code compile on Solaris? It seems likely because as a future part > of Singular I am sure that your boss would like to see that it does. I just checked it after you question, it compiles and links and the core-routines are ok, but the shared library (i.e. our python-module) doesn't run, it complains as follows: ImportError: ld.so.1: python: fatal: relocation error: R_SPARC_WDISP22: and symbol _cerror: value 0x463b9c does not fit (maybe you habe a clue about this).
But I'm sure, this is because my Solaris system is inconsistent. It was rather outdated, and I had to recompile a more recent gcc and python. (But there are still somewhere the systemwide gcc and python).
