<fivecents> I think the press release lacks the mention of the free, open-source software we ship with SAGE. Despite the fact that SAGE wouldn't be possible without them as they are a crucial part it could seriously piss their authors off (and I couldn't blame them, to be honest) . They put years into making these fine software packages and SAGE claims all the credit.
It might be true that controversies sell but are we seriously more interested in selling a story to a not-interested non-math audience than to "our fellow" mathematicians and developers? They might not take into account that this is "just" a press release. </fivecents> Martin -- name: Martin Albrecht _pgp: http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0x8EF0DC99 _www: http://www.informatik.uni-bremen.de/~malb _jab: [EMAIL PROTECTED] --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ To post to this group, send email to sage-devel@googlegroups.com To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel URLs: http://sage.scipy.org/sage/ and http://modular.math.washington.edu/sage/ -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
