Chris Over the years I have looked at the various incarnations of these devices. I have two thoughts on this subject the first is a cheap constant current battery charger (2Amp) left on for two weeks or more will slowly melt hard sulfation. if that is the problem, the time it takes might not be worth it. My second thought is if the battery system is designed right in the first place there will be no sulfation issues (unless the bank is pulled down and left that way) I never parallel battery strings I just use a single series string, if done this way there will be no sulfation at all and battery life nearly doubles. Contact me off list 575-539-2111 and we can discuss this Tom

(definitely a fire starter) I wouldn't hook them up without fusing..... I think modern charge controllers with PWM and temp comp do the job of desulfation adequately and safely. R. I have a customer who is having to do a battery upgrade, and someone's stuck a bug in her ear about them. I figure proper battery care is most essential, but I am interested in hearing about your experiences. Thanks so much for your information!
