For even nice gravel I am going to recommend the fattest tires that will fit. Yes you can ride gravel on 32 mm but 50mm is sooo much more comfortable and if you aren't getting all bumped around probably even faster.
Is there a particular trail you plan to tour? I have found a great deal of variability in the roughness of the rail trails in VA. My local Dahlgren Heritage rail trail is so rough you get beat up using Hetres while the famous Virginia Creeper trail is very smooth dirt, which is fine with 35mm unless it rains and becomes soft. Most of the DC trails are paved, and in better condition than the roads. -Dave J -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
