I feel the same way about the 1973 Motobecane Grand Record: wonderful bike;
tho' my two Riv Customs are even nicer in handling and, of course, in every
other way.

Re the Sam Hill: I bought it (1) as a touring bike and (2) as an all rounder
for those times when I want to go further or steeper than my fixeds and ss's
allow. It will be fine for #1; for #2, perhaps next year I'll get a second,
SRAM i9 wheelset disk wheelset for the Monocog. Or we'll see how the
supposedly forthcoming Alfine 11 does.
