The Five Boro Ride is a gas, but the cautions noted apply. One has to
ride VERY carefully: in my three rides, I've seen riders t-boned by
racing maniacs, one guy run smack into a light pole, many fall off
their bikes, and last year my son's girlfriend got hypothermic in the
rain and cold. It is a delight with these warnings. The weather is
unpredictable: it has ranged from 40 to 80, from sunny to pouring
rain.

But consider as well the other NYC rides, most especially the Tour de
Bronx in September which I will do this year in place of the 5BT.
Bike New York runs a good show.
