Thanks again to everyone for all the useful perspectives! Andy's reply in particular really speaks to what I'm wondering about. If a Rivendell really feels like a higher quality bike and is less fatiguing (read more enjoyable) over middle distances then that appeals to me a lot. As I get older and more achy but still able and wanting to do 75 mile rides with some regularity (thanks Advil!) comfort means a lot. I know prices for the RB-1 peaked some time ago and even fairly priced, good condition examples with up-graded components seem to languish on Ebay but I assume if I can honestly say it's an NOS bike/build with one 20 mile shakedown ride I think it would bring a better premium that if I did a couple of metric centuries on it. Fortunately it's not nearly spring here in Vermont (was 1 degree this am) so I have some more time to ponder. Now if I'd only started this thread before that new 57 Roadeo frame sold on Ebay for $1500!
I've tried to attach a small picture as I have no photo site at the moment. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
