The other bike to compare with your RB-1 is the forthcoming Roadini.  It's 
intended to be functionally equivalent to the Roadeo, but it only costs 
~$800.  If you swapped over your entire RB-1 build kit to a Roadini, the 
only new parts you'd need would be brake calipers and a 26.8mm seatpost.

thread.
