So I test rode a sam the other day and really enjoyed the ride. Getting my ducks in a row to swing a frame. I've always wanted to build up a frame. But as my camaro sitting in the garage proves, sometimes projects don't go as planned. A concern is that the "budget" build doesn't turn out to be that thrifty after all. But maybe it'll be fine, I'm a pretty picky shopper and my equipment work out pretty well. Seeking advice from those that were in my position. Any regrets not just taking the easier route?
Pretty much, the "Riv build kit" /is/ a budget build. Whatever else you might say about them, Rivendell isn't about excess "bling" for its own sake. In what areas would you go cheaper than the Riv build kit?
