I just went by the sidewall limits but I've ridden them at around 50
psi too. I weigh 255 pounds naked and often carry 20 pounds of junk on
my bike. I use 120 psi in my 25mm tires and only ride on smooth
asphalt. I have some tubular rims for it and may eventually lace them
up and get some Tufo's with the stick on glue strips. I don't actually
ride this bike much as its a show bike with a bunch of chrome and
vintage campy parts. Wanna buy it? My Long Haul Trucker uses the
Schwalbe 700x47 Marathons and these tires are what I use between
October and about the end of March or so. I like the reflective
sidewalls and the carefree ride qualities. My summer tires are
Panaracer 700x35's at 80-90 psi. As a youngster in my 20's I rode 23mm
tires at about 80 psi but I weighed 168 pounds and only had one or two
flats, if my memory is correct.
