I think the fact that the cyclist came back with the supplies to make such a
clever repair is fantastic! And it's great that you were able to ride the
bike home.

I posted to the list when my Quickbeam frame broke over a year ago (like
Grant said, once in a great while, a frame breaks). The folks at RBW went
above and beyond in handling the situation IMHO. Jim at Hiawatha Cyclery
shipped the frame back to RBW for me and I had a new frame quicker than they
predicted they'd be able to get one to me. I can't imagine any other bicycle
company handling the exchange as professionally or with as much personal
attention as RBW did.

Like Mike, a had another Rivendell (Atlantis) that I could ride in the
meantime. It was actually kind of a cool because I almost always ride the QB
on my commute, which accounts for a lot of my mileage. So I sort of "got to
know" my Atlantis better while I was waiting for the new QB frame to arrive.

Anyway, now I'm riding the Quickbeam pretty much every day again (it's
orange instead of green) and I couldn't be happier. It's like nothing ever
happened. And I kind of like the orange better. Anyway, I'm sure you'll be
satisfied with how the folks at RBW handle your situation. In the meantime,
enjoy riding your AHH!
