It occurs to me that the other thing to remember is that when we're comparing AHH v. Ram, Atlantis v. Bombadil, etc., we're discussing Grant's designs. I find, for example that my Quickbeam and AHH are both very familiar, exhibiting extremely positive descending behavior, stable cornering and snappy comfort. It was because I had a great deal of trust in GP's design tenets, after riding the Quickbeam for a year or so, that I considered the Hilsen. There are differences, to be sure, but not enough to matter after the first couple minutes riding them. I think the RBW models are "different enough". That is to say if you come in wanting a rough-stuff bike or touring bike, there's enough difference between the models that you'll lean towards a Hilsen or an Atlantis. But - and for me, this is the true genius of Grant's designs - when you want to mix things up and run the bike in an entirely different manner, it will handle that just fine. Fenders on or off, racks attached or detached, fully geared up or stripped down to do a little cross racing, the bikes just say, "Yeah. Fine. That sounds like fun!" and handle it. - Jim -- Jim Edgar [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cyclofiend Bicycle Photo Galleries - http://www.cyclofiend.com Current Classics - Cross Bikes Singlespeed - Working Bikes Your Photos are needed! - http://www.cyclofiend.com/guidelines "Steel's what you want for a messenger bike.
