To me it seems the whole point of having a handlebar bag is so you can get to stuff while riding. Measure up from your rack and down from your stem bolt, study the photos on the wall bike site and take your best guess. I guessed/measured wrong on my bike but I just returned the bag and got the next size up and it worked fine. If you want to email me directly I'd be happy to send detailed photos and more indepth info of the instalation of my Berthoud bag and decauler.
