I'm declaring that this isn't OT since it deals with the nature of the work we do and how to do it longer and better.
Face it - most people are pretty sedentary throughout the day. Those of us being in the software/computer biz even more so than a lot of folks, riding a desk for hours and hours on end.... Are any of us getting enough exercise? Walking? Running? Weights? Cycling? It's sooooooo easy to get in a rut and not bother with getting your heart rate up, but trust me - the older you get - the harder it gets. So please START NOW. Do *something*.... Personally I'm into cycling as pretty much my only means of getting in a workout (really bad knees). I ride just about every day at lunchtime and longer, slower rides on weekends once in a while. Plus from time to time I do what's called Bike Touring (think bike camping). In case you are curious, here's something I wrote up a few years ago when I did my first overnighter: http://www.bicycletouring101.com/FirstMatthewJarvis.htm -- Matthew S.
