Hi Bill I afraid you may have missed my situation. I write applications, not do work in VFP. It is those application that are being hit by idiots that listen to M$ "use net" talk. And I can no longer fight it. As for DLL, yes indeed as I mentioned I have already done that. C# feeding a vfp dll. It works, well know I know some pitfalls. And as I mentioned my next online rental may well use that. Other programs may not though because I want to sell them. And your #4, there is no reason not to use those skills elsewhere. We wont lose our expertise just by using another language. I do expect to support and upgrade my airport program for some time in VFP. Its too big to just do again. So I will be VFP programming for a while. But I do have a need now to learn new so c# is that new. Mainly because I have VS2005 anyway. Allen
-----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Bill Arnold Hi Allen, After writing last night, I jotted down a few more points: Point # 3: as the universe of available VFP talent pool shrinks, businesses that are running FPD/FPW/VFP applications still need coverage, so what happens? (a) work gets harder to find, but ... (b) the price goes up Point # 4: experienced programmers, regardless of language skills, have developed skills that are relatively unique and very desirable in a world still only entering the computer/digital age. A FoxPro programmer is still a programmer, not a stagecoach driver or coal mine. From a high level standpoint, who really cares what particular languages a programmer uses when other things matter even more: Point # 5: how many 'other language' developers need DLL's that VFP can create?
