To diversify also means to spread thin and further complicate something that's already as complicated as I can deal with. There's considerably more to building and managing a software business then writing code. I actually find solace just writing code, and sometimes I wish that were all I had to do. I'd make a list of all the considerations involved in bringing in a new development language/environment, but I don't have time <G> A big point I've tried to make is that the world is plenty big enough so that if FoxPro isn't in the "Top x" category, the numbers are still so large - and growing - that even small pieces of the computer pie are more then enough for any small software business or consultant. I think there are several not-so-good reasons why people move from paradigm to another, but one way I look at it is: had I found a way to stick with the assembler decades ago, I'd much more likely be swimming in success today. But the PC came along, with all the hoopla and excitement surrounding it, so I jumped on it like everyone else. In hindsight, I wish I knew then what I know now. I'm not going to cry over spilt milk, but when the crowd says "time to jump again", I'm going to have more of a "let's wait and see" attitude.
