Is it a plain number? Then the model as also used by OpenBSD makes sense as 3.1 == 3.10 But OTOH, why then using fraction numbers at all, instead of simply counting 1, 2, 3.... ? If you interpret some semantics into the version string, then the "." is just the separator between distinct numbers. Cheers, Chris
