Following on from my testing this weekend I have come to the conclusion that
the wiring of the extensions in my house is well bandy..... Using the Test
Socket my connection went up from 4Mb (Max over Ethernet) to 7Mb (Max Over
Ethernet) Changing the profile through Be's website gave me another 1Mb
Removing Annex M (ADSL2+ Max for more upload speed) got be up to a whooping
12Mb down and 1Mb there or thereabouts up. So for now I'm just going to pull
the extensions and get DECT phones :)

Cheers for all the advise.

Steve

The strong impression I get with Virgin is that it's a good package/service
unless something goes wrong at which point you find yourself at the mercy of
the customer support team which for Virgin is not a particularly good place
to be.

I'm happy with them in this house but in a previous house I was with them
and had problems it was a nightmare.
