On-board Assessor Training certified DNV SeaSkill Standard
(8 December, 2004)Seagull AS is pleased to announce that their Assessor On-board Training Course is certified in accordance with the DNV SeaSkill standard for learning programmes. The Assessor course is the second on-board course to undergo this type of certification.
Regulation I/6 in the STCW 95 convention says: “Each party shall ensure that: . those responsible for the training and assessment of competence of Seafarers, as required under the Convention, are appropriate qualified in accordance with the provisions of section A-I/6 of the STCW Code for the type and level of training or assessment involved”.
The Seagull Assessor On-board Training package allows appointed officers to do the assessment on-board ship. The Assessor training is in accordance with STCW 95, Regulation I/6 and Chapter I, Section A-I/6 and is also approved by NMD, Panama, Bahamas and Malta.
Seagull’s Assessor Training package allows assessor candidates to be trained onboard. The full Seagull Assessor Training Course package includes the required procedure, a CBT module (Number # 56) and an Assessor Workbook for the inclusion of a practical assessment exercise. The required procedure can also be downloaded from our web side.
The documentation must be stamped and signed by the Master or an approved on-board Assessor. The following must then be sent to Seagull for verification:
The test and the exercise must be completed unaided and then Seagull will issue a certificate of competence on satisfactory completion. All training activities can be managed conveniently on-board or on-shore through the Seagull Training Administrator.
