       NEW 

          ONBOARD CBT COURSE FOR DNV'S CONTAINER EXPRESS - INTEGRATED SURVEY PROGRAM

          (08 November, 2004)

          

          Seagull has, together with DNV, developed 

          an onboard course for senior deck officers on container vessels that 

          use DNV's Integrated Survey Program - ISP

        The onboard 

          course consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. A comprehensive 

          Computer Based Training (CBT) program covers the theoretical part of 

          the course. The CBT program, #117 Container Express -ISP, deals with 

          the following topics:

        1. Introduction 

          to Integrated Survey Program - ISP

          2. Classification Concept

          3. Arrangement, design, stowing and securing

          4. Critical areas, stowing and securing

          5. Strength and structure

          6. Critical areas, strength and structure

          7. Corrosion and corrosion protection

          8. Critical areas, corrosion and corrosion protection

          9. Pressure testing of Tanks and pipes

          10. Planned Inspection and Maintenance System (PIMS)

          11. Acceptance Criteria - Class. Structure and Coating

          12. Knowledge Assessment

        The practical 

          part of the course, developed by DNV and Seagull, forms an integral 

          part of the procedure and workbook included with the CBT module. Once 

          the CBT test and practical exercises have been completed, the documentation 

          will be sent to Seagull for verification and the issuance of a certificate 

          of competence.

        The certificate 

          of competence enables the officers onboard to perform the PIM of the 

          Container Express.
