I've got the first 3 of these.
The 85 has less DOF, and gives that effect you're talking about. It also
has neat bokeh.
The 77 is a little sharper wide open, but will have more DOF. The effect is
not as pronounced, but still pretty dramatic.

I find that I don't often shoot the 135 wide open...I think subconsciously
I feel I'm not able to handhold at that focal length.
