You seem to assume that with maximum number of features you please the maximum numbers
of customers. This is wrong.

This is not true either. The Z-1p uses exactly the same shutter unit as the 1/8000s
units Nikon uses in their pro cameras. For all I know the MZ-S may use exactly the
same unit. Anyway the main reason for using 1/6000s as top speed is power consumption.
The 1/8000s shutter of Pentax and Nikon are extremely power hungly. If you shoot many
shots with long exposure time (~10-30s) on the Z-1p, the batteries will last from
approximately 3-7 rolls. A 1/6000s shutter like used on the MZ-S would probably be
more realible than a faster shutter.

The reason thay don't is that its completely uneccesary. The MZ-S viewfinder is alreay
loaded with information. That is, you have conciously check metering mode in the
viewfinder in other to see it among all the other visual stimulis. Then its equally
simply to chech it on the switch. If you forget it, you forget it on the viewfinder
too. I use both the 645n and the Z-1p; its equally "easy" to forget metering mode on
both cameras.
