Of course they can. Thats the most important market for every manufacturer. There are 
10 000 000 K mount Pentax lenses out there that fit the MZ-S. Owners of these lenses 
are the main target for the MZ-S.

You assume that the Z-1p and the F100 are ideal cameras for everybody. They aren't. 
The Z-1p never sold well which proves that most Pentax users were less than impressed 
with it.

You again assume that a camera F100 like would be perfect for everybody.
