That would be my only criticism, Christian... 
A little more snap, with a little more exposure might have done it.
Yet, you say it may have benefited from a little less exposure? Is that
what causes 'washing out' of a scene? Too much light? I'll think on that...
Good reason to bracket, get the concept firmly established...and get the
best shot...
