This makes sense, however in addition we need to contact Motorola and other
hardware manufacturers. Comcast uses Motorola products, and so does the
small local company we use in my city. they are the same hardware with a bit
different configuration of the same software. My cable company wants to
help, however as they serve only the county where I live, it is hard to make
the voices heard. I do have Comcast for internet, however I may be able to
try to speak to them as a potential TV customer. I do not plan to use their
TV service as I prefer the lineup and pricing offered by my local company.
My voice may not be heard as well as a customer though, however I will still
speak to them.

I as well believe that we all need to speak to are providers and also the
hardware manufacturers to encourage them to move forward with set top box
accessibility. there is no reason that the software can not be made
accessible as all the hardware is there to facilitate it.

ipod"]

Hello,
If my memory serves me correctly, there is something called Blue for the
satellite receivers.
But however, it hasn't made it here to the states yet.
I'm still pleating with Dishnetwork and Direct TV to invest money in this
talking software for their blind subscribers.
I'm also talking to Comcast Cox and Time Warner about putting this talking
software on their cable boxes too as well.
Because just like Dishnetwork and Direct TV, Comcast Cox and Time Warner
have blind subscribers too as well.
So I'm trying to make this happen across the whole board.
But however, I can't do it alone, if you want this, you have to make some
noise about it.
I was told by all 5 companies, "if enough people requested it, we may
consider it."
So I urge you to either get on the phone or send emails to your cable or
satellite provider and tell them what you want.
My best regards.
  John.
