Is kmod-ltq-ptm-vr9 only for the "packet transfer mode" ? If yes it will
not work - even on VDSL, ISP still use ATM as far as I know.
The firm you need should be into the TD-W8970 source code.
I could not find it anywere.

I could confirm that , when using my current firmware on a VDSL2
POTS , the synchronisation is established on ADSL2+, not VDSL2.
try adding -M2 to the vdsl_cpe_control and make the last 2 bytes of
the xtu _01_07 i think that will force vdsl.
Ok I'll try that as well - once I get the necessary firmware from link
above.
the spi driver fails on this unit and we are using gpio-spi bit
banging :) i will look at the spi irq issue when i am done with vdsl
