Thanks. I have kind of resolved the issue by using the install CD and with the ACPI enabled. I tried the ACPI disabled it failed with GPF fault. It failed to recognize the SATA CD-ROM after boot, but luckily the network is ok. So I did the network install and now it is okay and I can boot into the console.
