Stay with me a bit longer. We only have svn head in OpenOCD and this is a pervasive patch that is going to mess up all other patches, so it would *never* get tested if I tried to push this out as a patch for everybody to test. We DO have release branches, so anyone who needs to work with something stable *can* use the release branch. In the long term I believe and hope svn head will be more stable than this on average though!
