Using a large mallet, furio ercolessi whacked out:

 This is a feature rather than a bug in mutt.  I suggest using 

 MASQUERADE_AS(`spin.it')
 FEATURE(`masquerade_envelope')

 in sendmail.mc and regenerating sendmail.cf to set the envelope in sendmail
 itself - my .mc file (comes in handy on dialups / behind firewalls) is at
 <http://www.hserus.net/pop_smtp.html> if you want it.
