'Tisn't mutt that doesn't like it, but your terminal. ^S is normally
bound to XOFF (thus stopping everything), and ^Q to XON (starting it
up again if you've done a XOFF). The ^S never gets to mutt.
You can use stty(1) and doubtless other things to change this if you
want.
