I don't know. I'm not an expert.

My newsserver's name is news.cis.dfn.de, my message-id
<9fu8e1$5t826$[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
                ^^^^^^^^     ^^^^^^
As you can see the server name and the part after the @ differ.
The ID-3615 belongs to my as an unique identifier.
So the server is no using the server name for the message-id (like
secnews.netscape.com does).

I know of one case (news.t-online.com) where the news server replaced
the message-id completely when news.t-online.com was the first entry
port into usenet for the posting. (I'Äm actually not sure if they're
still doing it, since I don't use that server anymore).
