I have never seen that kind of nothing. When glav/lavplay does not print out any error and played back the movie. I don't remember a computer where you did not hear any sound, if lavplay plays back the video. > I checked settings in alsamix and aumix and they both have volume pcm not > muted. My kernel is 2.6.20 (compiled by myself) with alsa, and it has oss > emulation; mplayer can play the clip with alsa or oss configuration. Could you check if programs are using you sound card.
