Basically I have no idea what goes wrong on your computer. In one of the older mails from you I found that you used the intel based sound card. Could you do a "lspci | grep -i audio" so I know that sound card your system has. Have you loaded the modules snd_pcm_oss and snd_mixer_oss ? > In summary: all other Linux or Windooz application play avi clips with sound. > My Linux plays sound with any other linux sound related applications (xmms, > mplayer, movies or otherwise), but (g)lavplay is silent. When I > played with environment variable LAV_AUDIO_DEV (g)lavplay is aware of it, > in other words, if I assign a non valid value to $LAV_AUDIO_DEV it > complains. Something is wrong. How many sound cards do you have ? And from which one doe you want to record ? Without the recording command, and the output when you add -v 2. And lines from your log (/var/log/messages) it is very hard to help. You should see some entry's when you start recording and it fails. auf hoffentlich bald, Berni the Chaos of Woodquarter Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] www: http://www.lysator.liu.se/~gz/bernhard ------------------------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: The Future of Linux Business White Paper from Novell.
