Note: The Buz does not like the older Via chipsets.

The 2.6.8 is quite up to date. You might try the CVS version. But I fear
that this wont solve the problem.

Are you able to load modules like i2c_core, i2c_albo_bit, videodev,
videocodec ?
With insmod by hand ?

When that works without any obvious error, try loading the buz modules:
saa7111, saa7185, zr36060, and than the zoran driver.
