Right. After collecting responses, the general feeling is that I can
look at around 1FPS on a P3-600 to P3-800 class machine, or so, assuming
that I do some filtering.

Also, AMD chips are around 30% faster than the clock speed equivalent
would suggest, compared to Intel chips.


Finally, I probably should have pointed out in this message that I
really want to be able to get a throughput of around 1 hour per day,
minimum, with little noise filtering.

Anything slower ties up my storage for too long, but adding a couple of
machines at one to two days per title is acceptable to me -- I get the
higher throughput, but with hardware that many people are giving away
for next to nothing. :)
