Explanations have been given. By the people writing the code. What more do you need? In your analogy, it would be like Jesus telling you something, and you disagree. Feel free to disagree with Jesus or the Bible, but keep in mind, the Bible != Jesus in this analogy. If Jesus|coders did exist, and I can see the results of his/her work (water into wine, design into code), then I would be inclined to believe in Jesus|coder.
