The linux kernel is used in closed source products all the time, it has no effect there just like it has no effect for BSDs. Linux got marketshare from a particlarly well known lawsuit that made many people avoid the BSDs, and a big group of people interested in nothing but gaining marketshare, which is not a typical BSD concern. The licenses have nothing to do with it. Adam
