How Ironic!!!!

Our problem child is the Pharmacy module mainly as well. Others apps
suffer like MIS on filing users but Pharmacy reports slowness almost
every day. In fact, Meditech has an appointment with one of our
Pharmacists Monday to watch their job while they are working to see if
they can find anything.

Good luck everyone.

Imagine my surprise to see this today since we just reported the IST
job issue yesterday. Fortunately, our response from Meditech was:

Duffy,Bill (MEDITECH) - Jun 19, 2007 - 1754 EDT:

The IST is aborting on a PHA transaction, we're trying to kill a data
node but
the "/" prefix is not open. I'll ask PHA apps to take a look.

you
investigate? Tahnk you!

Gehm,Stephen (MEDITECH) - Jun 19, 2007 - 1922 EDT: The IST job on the A
machine
is crashing due to a problem transaction from PHA.

PHA DTS 7315 addresses this issue. We need permission to add this
change.
Since the IST job is already dead, the only way to correct this, is to
add the
change to TEST and LIVE, and restart the IST job.

There really isn't any way for this DTS to be tested by users on site.
I will
add this change INHOUSE. Let me know when we have Change Control to
add to TEST
and LIVE.

I hope this may be of some help,
Paul

CONTACT MEDITECH!!!!

We have been having this issue for a year or more and have been dealing
with Meditech constantly. They have recently put a group on this
because apparently more of you are contacting them and they realize they
are having a problem.

At first they kept blaming our network but finally they are looking at
this in a broader picture.

They will dial in and shadow the jobs but have not come up with much
yet. We either see high CPU or the IST problem when this is happening.
Also, have found many schedule reports running but nothing positive
yet.

Good luck.

Carol

I am curious if anyone else has problems when during and after the
filing of the MIS Medical Necessity Requirements dictionary.

Our Patient Accounting manager is the one in charge of this dictionary.
She usually updates this dictionary in the middle of the night from
home, because it appears to have such an impact on system functionality.
There used to be a major decrease in response time throughout the
system when this dictionary was filed. This does not appear to be an
issue anymore, as the Patient Accounting manager accidentally filed this
dictionary one day last week.

However, it seems that the other MIS dictionaries when the Medical
Necessity Requirements dictionary is filed. I was setting up a user,
and then went to Copy Access Dictionaries, and the new user I set up was
not available in the lookup. I also went to the Nurse Dictionary in NUR
to initialize this user there, and the user was not available in that
lookup either. The Patient Accounting manager also noticed that she had
entered a new insurance into the MIS Insurance dictionary, but was
unable to see it in the lookup in one of her BAR dictionaries.

Not only did these things happen, but the filing of the Medical
Necessity Requirements dictionary generated errors on the caretaker:

BACKGROUND JOB A * IST NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY

There were also messages for Job B and D as well. MEDITECH said that
everything was fine. “The CPT dictionary is being updated causing the
IST's to
run a bit slower but they are moving. Once this completed the IST's
will go back to idling.”

Does anyone else have problems with this besides us? Has anyone found
a solution to this problem, or does anyone know of a DTS that could
possibly correct this issue? Any responses are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
