The people you disparage as "Marxists" or "those on this list who think they are Marxists" didn't call for a vote for Trump; they just argued against lesser evilism and illusions in the Democratic Party. It's hard to do that while simultaneously calling on people to vote for Democratic Party lesser evilism. So for example, instead of simply complaining that Trump is planning to send 30,000 people to Guantanamo, someone posted to this list an article that showed how Biden and past Democrat administrations helped enable that.
The enemy is not Trump and his self serving cabal. It's the whole damned system. So yes, of course everyone on this list knew Trump would be awful. It's just that some didn't prioritize buying into the corrupt and anti-democratic duopoly that is US electoral politics. If there is an upsurge of radicalism in the US, I doubt it will reject those who condemned the Democrats while gravitating only to those who focused on Trump.
