Certainly Hamas bit the hand that fed it and there is no chance of a rapprochement with Israel. But for Palestinians, the alternative is the PA and they are despised, especially following their attacks on resistance groups in Jenin - a Vichy government if ever there was one.
Polls before Oct 7 2023 put Marwan Barghouti ahead of Ismail Haniyeh in a hypothetical election. But Barghouti is not being released any time soon.
