Steve, interesting prognostication. I don't see any of what you say actually happening. Yes, there will be *some* realignment...the last big one was between 1980 and 1982 when the "Reagan Revolution" occurred and a swath of reactionary Democratic senators from the South (and one from Colorado) crossed the aisle to become GOP representatives/Senators. They took their white constituents with them.
I agree there is no way the old line Ronald Reagan GOPers can recapture their party unless the millions of white folks who re-registered as the GOP did so in rejecting Trump and that is unlikely to happen. I see some GOPers at various levels, and not the Cheny's, registering as Dems. And that if Harris wins hugely, which she is likely not to do. But one never knows.
