In Germany for example it's against the law to suppress emails in the same way postal services are not allowed to suppress regular letters. If you accept an email it's your responsibility to deliver it to the recipient. There have already been court decisions, sadly not against bigger players yet - besides the international issues. Even sorting it into a "might be spam" folder is a grey area because users that collect mails using pop3 might not be able to see them. If a company loses a big contract or similar because you suppressed an email instead of rejecting it, it can get pretty expensive. If you reject the email, it's still the senders responsibility to contact the recipient in a different way. But then a lot of mail admins over here don't know these laws or don't care. :-( Regards, Thomas Walter -- Thomas Walter Datenverarbeitungszentrale FH Münster - University of Applied Sciences - Corrensstr. 25, Raum B 112 48149 Münster Tel: +49 251 83 64 908 Fax: +49 251 83 64 910 www.fh-muenster.de/dvz/ _______________________________________________ mailop mailing list mailop@mailop.org https://chilli.nosignal.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mailop
