I bought my Mac about two months ago, at the same time, I got rid of my Windows computer totally. Not very long thereafter, my fiancé got her mac. Okay, she still wants to chuck it threw a wall from time to time, but that phase is also passing now.
The mac to me, is more intuitive, it seems to me as though Apple wants to make the interface more like that of the iPad, in so doing, making the OS easier to learn. Okay, the fact that Apple tries to protect the users from themselves is annoying from time to time, though that can be worked around as well. As someone said earlier, when an app conks out on you, the whole system doesn't go with it, and that is worth the cost difference to me. How many times have I had my windows computer freeze on me because of one app, I honestly cannot say. This however, does never happen on the Mac, not to my knowledge anyway. Another point to the Mac, is the fact that if and or when your operating system breaks, you can do a complete reinstall on your own, something which is impossible using windows. Something else that benefits me greatly, is the built in dictation feature of Mountain lion. Due to only having one hand, my typing speed has been decreased by at least half. Now, that is no longer a factor, and another reason why the mac is cost effective for me. It increased my productivity two levels higher than before I lost the use of my hand, obviously because I can talk faster than I could ever type. There you have my contribution to the Mac versus Windows debate, no matter how insignificant it maybe.
