Hi Ray, OK, I looked up the support pages for USRobotics and Zoom. The USRobotics product page gives a download link to a script: • USR5637 56K USB Faxmodem http://www.usr.com/support/product-template.asp?prod=5637 The text instructions for the Mac on that page just before the link to the .dmg file state: <begin quote> Mac OS X: Mac 10.4 to Mac 10.8 Modem Script Download the file to a temporary location on your computer's hard drive. If the file does not automatically open, locate the file in Finder and launch it. Launch the package file and follow the on-screen instructions in order to complete the installation. Note: If a warning appears, follow these additional instructions.
Press the Control key and click the Modem Script icon. Choose Open from the pop-up menu. Click Open to install. <end quote> Then they give a link to the .dmg file named "USRobotics56KUSBModem.dmg" The Zoom support page claims that the modem script does not have to be separately downloaded, but is built into your operating system, and will come up automatically when you connect the device up to a phone line. You should only need the instructions on how to configure this in their linked PDF document. I'll quote what they say on their support page at: • Zoom Telefonics -- Model 3095 Support http://www.zoomtel.com/techsupport/dial_up/3095F.shtml Note that this is at the very bottom of a long set of information of various Windows drivers and buried under the description at the very end of the page about downloading the driver for older Mac operating systems, so I would trust my excerpted description unless you really want to verify everything. <begin quote> • If you use Mac OS X v10.5 or later (including v10.8 Mountain Lion), please use the built-in Zoom Universal modem script that came with your operating system. Refer to these installation instructions (PDF) for more information. and then gives the link to: http://www.zoomtel.com/documentation/dial_up/USBMini-Installation-OSXv105-8.pdf <end quote> After you follow the installation instructions for either of these devices, use the Apple Knowledge Base page instructions on how to send a Fax from your Printer dialog window: • OS X Mountain Lion: Send a fax http://support.apple.com/kb/PH10887 HTH.
