I'm contacting them about it now, actually. Is the iPhone app just as inaccessible? Or is that more accessible than the mac software.

You can watch live TV, and you can with some mucking around set up the preferences etc, but you can't use the guide, and therefore you can't record shows easily. You can however use the EyeTV app for IOS, which connects to your mac, and record shows that way, but not a full series only individual episodes--very annoying! We've used it here for a year or so, and it seems to be OK, if you can live with the limitations. The good thing is that if you can record something, the files are playable from finder.
